Hanover,
NH: Sources inside the Dean's office have confirmed
recent rumors that two individuals claiming to be
descendants of Amos Tuck have approached the
Admissions office and demanded a place in the class of
2008. Y-chromosome tests show that, in fact, the
individuals are direct descendants of the Tuck family;
however, it is not clear from the evidence whether
Edward or his brothers or father were responsible.
The two men are currently students at Harvard Business
School. In an exclusive interview with the Tuck
Profit, they conceded that their motivation for coming
forward at this time was basically selfish. "We
just want to get a good education. Our half great
great uncle-in-law founded Tuck, and now we're thrown
out on the street?"
In an attempt to save face, Harvard Business School
assistant professor Samuel Sloan is planning to write a
case about the situation. According to Sloan, "I
am developing this case solely for the basis of class
discussion, and certainly not to illustrate either
effective or ineffective handling of an administrative
situation."
Dean Danos expressed shock and outrage at the
accusations, but later retracted his statement when it
became apparent that the scandal lent an air of
"Monticello" to the institution. The Monticello
Quarterly has decided to initiate coverage of MBA
programs, and will release its rankings early next
month. |
