Vagabonds Mistake Tuck Dorm for Homeless Shelter
Buchanan Hall rooms are, for once, in high demand

A new tenant enjoys her lunch, outside Buchanan Hall.
Hanover, NH: For almost 40 years, Buchanan Hall has served not only as low-income housing for many of Tuck’s first year students, but also as a sad monument to a mercifully dead architectural movement known simply (and not coincidentally) as "Brutalism."  This genre, popularized by depressed, post-WWII communist Europeans, is known for its uninspired and repetitive angular geometries mixing wooden forms with base materials – normally rough, unadorned concrete and dark-colored brick.

Family Issues Statement: “Don’t Cry for Me, Tuck”

Lebanon, NH: Professor Rafael La Porta lay unconscious last night in the intensive care unit of the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. His wife, Evita; his children; and Pat Fox kept vigil around the clock. Meanwhile, plaintive Microsoft Outlook “Gym” appointment reminders and instant messages from Mamma went unanswered.

Tuck Profit News Brief
9 out of 10 Racists Don't Know Racist Term for Native Americans

Hanover, NH: Last week, the Upper Valley community was rocked by allegations of racism toward Native Americans.  The College has a long history with the Native American community, some of which is rather troubling.  Recent events, including an alleged "Cowboys and Indians" themed party, generated a series of emails from President Wright and a rally on the Hanover green.

However, The Tuck Profit learned that not all students were outraged.  A group of racist undergrads planned to stage a counter-protest.  Profit reporters infiltrated their meetings.  The group purchased hundreds of sheets of posterboard and dozens of magic markers; they organized over 600 students to attend the counter-protest and bought ad time on local radio stations.

But the counter-protest was canceled at the eleventh hour.  Why?  The racists could not think of any racist terms to put on the signs.  One organizer shouted: "We all agree that we hate Native Americans.  Can't anyone in this room think of a derogatory term for them?  What kind of racists are we?  This is an outrage!!"
