Election News: The Race Heats Up
In what’s shaping up to be the hottest battle in club succession history, the time has arrived for club president Dennis Lasko T’08 and club VP Brent Mattis T’08 to hand over the reins to the next generation of car-obsessed leaders.  “It was a tough act to following Mike’s (Dovorany T’07) excellent leadership; I mean two successful events in one year is pretty hard to top,” said club president Lasko.  Michael Dovorany couldn’t be reached for comment but was last seen leading a “Go Fast Initiative” meeting at General Motors.

This year the Auto Club leadership vowed to overpromise and under-deliver, and they have surpassed even their wildest expectations with a single sparsely attended Top Gear showing at Dennis’s house. Opinions of the Auto Club have varied across the Tuck Community.

“I think Auto Club do great job by provide free driving lessons." “Not only did they fail to tell me I couldn’t drive across water, they didn’t even come get my car.” “The Auto Club needs to hold more early-morning road rallies.” - "Smithers, get me my keys.  Zoooooommmmmmm. . .”   “I heard that Sydney Johnston was interested in running the club next year.  Oh, and I will be the new Faculty advisor.”

Brent Mattis has led the recruiting effort by approaching people and showing them X-rays of the bones he broke while motorcycling.  Despite Mattis’ efforts, some first-years are actually interested in running the club.

One of the leading candidates who has emerged is Darius Matthews.  “If I become Car Club President, the first event I plan on holding will be a ‘pimp my ride’ event.  I have an email in to Koepnick to see if we can trick-out his Cayenne – that thing needs some rims and tints.”

Charlie Smith also expressed an interest and plans on emphasizing his vanity plates in his campaign.  When asked for a comment on his plans for the club, Smith said “Huh?  Oh, dude, I forgot I submitted that.”
