Hanover,
NH: The normally collaborative and
friendly Tuck community is undergoing a
seismic shift towards Wharton-style
infighting and backstabbing, according
to several observers of the Kneissel Cup
team selection process. Chris
Ebeling T'07, the self-anointed leader
of the selection committee, "has
violated every social code this
community has created, including
self-serving behavior, unwanted email
spam, sexual harassment, and even
blatant favoritism," said one
disgruntled Tuckie. "Since when
has winning been so important at Tuck?"
"Somehow Ebeling ended up on Team Amos.
What a farce!" said Jordan Karp, who was
relegated to the second tier Team Tuck.
"I complained, so he gave me the
captainship. I'm a great leader,
so it makes sense, but the whole thing
raises some serious process questions."
Serious questions
about Ebeling's judgment were raised when
pre-game screening revealed that Ebeling
had tried to sneak a 16-year old girl
onto the team: Dartmouth freshman
Alyssa Helsing. Besides the obvious legal
issues associated with a 16-year-old
participating in a drinking game, it just feels sketchy.
Many suspect Jill Branca T'07 of
squealing on Helsing, as she stood to
benefit the most. With Helsing's
disqualification, Branca was moved up to
Team Amos.
Kyle Schroeder T'07, bumped from the
alternate list, spoke with the Tuck
Profit about his unceremonious removal. "Duh,"
he said. |
